Simonds Stadium

 

The home of the mighty Geelong Cats and only a short stroll from our park. It is one of the largest and most prestigious venues in Victoria and is also one of three venues within the state to host AFL premiership matches and the only one outside of Melbourne!

 

 

Geelong Waterfront

 

Waterfront Geelong is one of Australia’s best waterfront redevelopments. The transformation includes new restaurants, beautiful landscaped gardens, walking, cycling and skating paths, attractions and public art. There is plenty to see and do along the Waterfront with train rides, bay cruises, seaplanes, helicopter flights and more. Central features are Steampacket Quay and Steampacket Gardens where you can take a stroll beside the bay or enjoy a picnic on the lawns. An antique carousel beside the Quay is also a favourite for all.

 

 

 

Wineries & Breweries

 

Explore the Geelong wine region’s diverse sub-regions from surfcoast to volcanic plains, making it’s food, wine and landscape resist any “cool climate” label. Meet the makers and celebrate the best of Geelong wine region at the annual Toast to the Coast, held over October/November at wineries from the Bellarine and Moorabool Valley out to the Surfcoast.

Call past Little Creatures Geelong Brewery, grab a pale ale and a bite in the canteen or take a wander down Mystery lane and see what you discover or jump aboard a brewery tour!

 

 

Eastern Beach


To get to Eastern Beach it's a short drive of 2 kilometers from the park where the famous bollards and fins are great swimming ,all within walking distance of each other

 

 

Geelong Shopping

 

Geelong is Victoria’s largest regional town and there are loads of shopping options. The central city area has a high concentration of malls with major department stores and chains, as well as a good mix of specialty shops and independent boutiques. “Pako” Pakington street is a vibrant cosmopolitan mix of shopping and eating out. Fashion stores, boutique giftware, specialty stores and gourmet groceries make up this eclectic mix of shops. There are many local markets all year round.

 

 

Barwon River

One of the iconic river systems in Victoria, the Barwon begins in the Otway Ranges and flows through the heart of Geelong on it’s 160km journey to meet the sea at Barwon Heads. The river and it’s environs are marvellous places for watersports, walking, cycling, fishing or just relaxing.

 

Head of the River


One week in March The river comes alive with the Head of the River Competition a race and a time to be part of the park.

 

Horse Racing

 

The Geelong racetrack is minutes from our park. It is one of the oldest racing clubs in Victoria. It is one of our countries premier country racetracks, the Geelong races are best known for the Geelong Cup Carnival in October every year.

 

Beaches and Surf

Only minutes from central Geelong in one direction, Victoria’s beautiful Surfcoast hugs the Southern Ocean and is the gateway to the world famous Great Ocean Road. Some of Australia’s most renowned surfing locations are found along the Surfcoast including Bells Beach – home of the annual Bells Classic, held every Easter. In the other direction you are on the doorstep of the Bellarine Peninsula including historic seaside villages, beautiful beaches and award winning wineries.

 

 

Adventure Park

 

Adventure Park is an amusement and waterpark in Wallington – only a twenty minute drive from our park! The park contains many attractions of numerous waterslides and water playgrounds. A fantastic place to visit, lot’s of fun to be had by all!
